Business Essentials Part 3 of 4 – Growing your Therapeutic Horticulture Business

This course assumes participants have an understanding of regulatory requirements, insurances, risk management etc and focuses on building markets for a TH business.

  1. What are the current TH business opportunities in Australia?    Employed roles -vs- contracted
  2. Applying the ‘Know You’ principles.   Identify your ideal market   / Demonstrating a ROI
  3. Potential future TH business opportunities.   Funding: grants, Councils, Health, community sectors [NDIS is covered in other THA webinars] / Building partnerships

Presenter :  Leigh McGaghey

Bio:  Leigh McGaghey is an experienced landscape architect, author and environmental educator with further qualifications in recreational therapy and adult education. Leigh has expertise in designing and delivering accredited training for TAFE NSW across a range of environmental qualifications with a focus on professional practice subjects in landscape design, horticulture and business sustainability. These skills enabled Leigh and her psychologist partner to successfully establish Wired for Nature, a nature-connection consultancy which includes therapeutic horticulture services.

Join our 4 part series of  Business Essentials Professional Development Series as we explore the background and different types of therapeutic horticulture practices, and provide guidance and advice to help you start incorporating this approach into your service offerings.

This course assumes participants have an understanding of TH [what it is, the evidence-base, where and how it’s practiced] through completion of the THA Introduction to TH [in-person workshops or online course], or through their own research and/or experience.
