Title: Botanical Gardens Nature Connection
World Therapeutic Horticulture Day (WTHD), is a global initiative aimed at raising awareness of how plant-based activities improve mental and physical health. It highlights the work of practitioners and encourages communities to experience the healing power of nature through gardening, horticulture therapy, and nature-based sensory experiences.
Join Therapeutic Horticulture Australia at our Autumn Meet Up at the Garden Club Cafe, City Botanical Gardens Brisbane.
The City Botanic Gardens is a heritage-listed botanic garden. It was also known as Queen’s Park. It is located on Gardens Point in the Brisbane CBD and is bordered by the Brisbane River, Alice Street, George Street, Parliament House and Queensland University of Technology‘s Gardens Point campus. It was established in 1825 as a farm for the Moreton Bay penal settlement.
The Gardens include Brisbane’s most mature gardens, with many rare and unusual botanic species. In particular the Gardens feature a special collection of cycads, palms, figs and bamboo.
Meet your host, Samantha Spinks of Companion Planting. Sam will have a THA sign on the table.
