I’m a Counselor, Teacher, and Horticulturalist, wearing two therapeutic hats that I absolutely love!
In my private practice, Admirari Nature Therapy, I focus on creating and facilitating a relaxed and helpful space for people to find wholeness and healing in the outdoors. This practice evolved out of a need I saw in the community to provide counseling spaces that felt more neutral and less threatening than the traditional counseling setting.
Sessions can involve some counseling, however they tend to involve mindfulness, sensory experiences, reflective processes and horticultural activities. It’s all about exploring and reflecting in a way that feels right for each person.
Sessions can be for all ages as individual or group sessions.
I also coordinate the Therapeutic Garden Program at The Royal Children’s Hospital where we run sessions for patients, caregivers, and staff, using the power of nature to support well being.
When I’m not working, I’m busy cultivating a productive and sensory-rich garden on my suburban block in Greensborough.
I’m really passionate about getting Therapeutic Horticulture recognized as a valuable form of therapy. I’m proud to be part of the THA Events Sub Committee, helping to spread the word!
