Summary:
Increasingly it is being understood that how we design our built environments has a profound effect on our
health and wellbeing. Therapeutic landscapes can make a significant difference to the independence and
quality of life of people in a range of settings.
This workshop will introduce the importance of connecting with nature. It will unpack the design principles
and discuss a range of ways they can be implemented in a variety of both private and community settings.
Tara will showcase a number of successful case studies and discuss the barriers that often disable a person
from connecting with nature and how to overcome them. Finally, delegates will leave with tools and
resources to understand the bigger picture and be able with confidence to find ways to help people to get
back out into nature.
