THA and AIH present 2 garden tours in 2 cities at the same time.
Garden Tour 1 – Adelaide
Tara Graham-Cochrane, Director of DesignWELL Landscape Architects and President of THA. An inclusive playspace for children with an intellectual disability. DesignWELL worked closely with the students, educators and therapists at The Grove Education Centre to develop an inclusive sensory nature play area to compliment the inclusive learning programs for the school’s young people with an intellectual disability. The project aimed to create fun, innovative and engaging places in which all children could play, learn and grow with the support of their educators, therapists and caregivers.
Garden Tour 2 – Melbourne
Christian Jenkins, award winning Designer and AIH Victorian convener, in a small, colourful, eclectic and diverse garden – and experience the magic of the design.
Tara Graham Cochrane
Tara is an internationally award-winning Landscape Architect who specialises in the design of healing and therapeutic landscapes for the healthcare, aged care, disability and education sectors across Australia. Tara is a strong believer that physical environments can be designed to reduce stress, improve health and to support people’s wellbeing.
Christian Jenkins
With an impressive array of awards, Christian is well-known in the landscape sector. His designs have been recognised with two awards in 2019: the People’s Choice Award for the ‘Dreaming’ garden and the SILVER Gilt Award at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, as well as Gold at the New Zealand Flower and Garden Show 2018 winning Design Excellence, and Horticultural Excellence Awards and Gold in 2017
