Eco Art Workshop

Discover the therapeutic effects of ecotherapy in this newest THA workshop. We’re all part of nature and this workshop will encourage a more nature-conscious way of living.

In this 3-hour workshop, ecotherapist Kate Coenen  will share techniques to live in a more mindful way amongst nature. You’ll have the opportunity to express your eco-self in safe environment and meet like-minded people.

After an introduction into ecotherapy and eco-art, you’ll create your own non-permanent artwork in a prominant garden in  Melbourne. Materials will be provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own flowers, leaves, seedpods, etc.

Kate Coenen is a passionate horticulturist, garden designer and landscaper from The Netherlands. After graduating from The University of Melbourne, she started Living Senses, a business that specialises in creating therapeutic landscapes. She has extended the services into the field of ecotherapy, to further reconnect people to nature. Being a tall Dutch woman, you might have spotted her at one of her lectures at Burnley or talk at garden clubs. In her spare time, she likes to study, cuddle her cat and build her own garden.

Kerryn Coombs-Valeontis is a Group Eco-therapist and Eco/Art Therapist with many years’ experience working in a variety of community and mental health settings, inviting people into meaningful experiences in Nature.  She has been a teacher of vocational Education for over 15 years, in Community Services.  She is currently a Sessional Lecturer at Nan Tien Institute, on the Master of Health and Wellbeing program. She is the founder and facilitator of the Eartheart Ecotherapy since 2018. Kerryn also shares her experiences working with Nature as co-therapist, as co-author of the book Nature Heals; An Introduction to Nature-Based Therapies in Australia and New Zealand. She has independently published a collection of poetry ( in parentheses) in 2021  and has studied poetry therapy. She has a Master of Social Ecology, a Bachelor of Education, and Diploma of Transpersonal Art Therapy.
